Plastic Injection Molding

Plastic injection molding is a high volume production method for manufacturing parts.  Plastic is forced from a heated cylinder, under pressure, into the cavity of a confined mold.  It changes state from liquid to solid, and is ejected as a finished part.  Injection molding is a production process. When alternate manufacturing methods and materials are an option, injection molding typically becomes economically viable at around 1,000 pieces.
